Visiting London needs almost a lifetime! So, we have to cut down on our choices. First of all, there’s the royal residence Buckingham Palace, which was built in 1703. The British Museum gets you in touch with the cultural treasures of the ancient world; amongst them: the Stone of Rosetti deciphering the Egyptian hieroglyphs, the Elgin marbles of the Athenian Parthenon. The Tower of London takes us back to medieval England: once a stronghold and residence of William the Conqueror, later a prison and Royal Mint; don’t forget to say hello to the beefeaters (guards)!
