A one-day excursion to the wonderful Austrian town, also called "City
of Music".
In its ancient center you can meet and enjoy the musicians standing
at every corner of the square in front of St Peter's cathedral.
A visit to the birthplace of Wolfgang, Amadeus Mozart
in Getreidengasse, nº 9 is of course a must. A beautiful collection
of violins (also his first one), scores and pictures will introduce
you to his family and great artistic career.
Salzburg is endowed with many castles. 125 meters above the river Salsach
lies 'Hohensalzburg', a beautiful residence which you can reach by cog
railway. In its surrounding you may find 'Leopoldskron' and 'Hellbrunn'.
The former was the setting for the legendary movie, 'The Sound of Music'.
The Latter has a marvellous garden with ponds and a 'Mechanic Museum',
both worth seeing.
Innsbruck: (http://www.innsbruck-tourism.at)
A half-day excursion in the lovely city the name of which means 'the
bridge across the river Inn', It is famous for its 'Golden Roof', built
during the reign of Emperor Maximilian I, to conceal the dark wall of
the building built by Duke Frederik IV, who was called "the Duke
with the empty purse".
The ski-jump accommodation reminds you of the Olympic Winter Games held
in this town in the sixties.
The 3-mountain-pass-route:
This is a picturesque route in the Alps across the Brennerpass in Austria,
the Jaufenpass in Italy and the Timmeljoch pass back in Austria.
Bavaria in Germany:

This will be a trip right across the German border (Füssen) Where
you're going to visit the idyllic castle of "Neuschwanstein".
The "mad" king of Bavaria, Ludwig II, built it and Walt
Disney got inspired by it for his movie "Sleeping Beauty".
In the neighbourhood there's another option. Linderhof castle was also
built by Ludwig II. His model was the petit Trianon of Versailles.
Linderhof
has a magnificent garden.
But Bavaria offers you more than castles... You may
not forget Oberammergau, a small town which became world-famous for
its 10-yearly music festival (Festspiele) and its wood sculptures.
And not to forget Wiess with its opulous baroque church (Wiesskirche).
